I was reflecting today during meditation how much I enjoyed this hike with Rei, and how readily it comes to mind when i think, “What would the perfect day be like?” It would include this hike and lingering by this hidden pond deep in the woods, high in these green mountains. Alone in the forest with nowhere to be anytime soon, and noone showing up next, and nothing to do but sit on the soft pine needley bank beside my dog and watch the water, the wind, the woods and the sky. No talking needed. She is so easy to be with- I don’t need to be in charge of her, she just is, and I just am, and we can both relax and just be here now together. Thank you Reilly for being the perfect friend, and liking to do these things, too!
