The Wild Rovers

The Wild Rovers Offleash caNines Group (W.R.O.N.G.) are a few of us who met at the Farm Field at Tufts Cummings vet school to run our dogs together for several years. For a variety of our own individual reasons, we no longer go to the Field daily but meetup at various other trails for dog walks. The important thing to this blog about the Wild Rovers is that these are a group of dogs that my reactive dog, Sage, is comfortable with and non-reactive to. He can use his full range of dog-language cues and manners effectively with this group and it gives me great confidence to know that his problem is not innate and universal- he’s not Tarzan-  but just with unfamiliar dogs. The Wild Rovers include Lab Brothers Pete and Cooper, Springer spaniels Riley and Maddie, lab mix Hobie Drake, and Chessie retriever Piper. Other Friends of Sage include Irish red setter Fitz, Collie mix Simba, Reilly’s real brother Harley and his roommate corgi mix Mandy, Sage’s girlfriend golden retriever Brandy, neighbor Golden Timber and Cleo the labrador. I will fill in more as I remember them all…
