This is Seiji
Seiji is a three year old male dog, predominantly Japanese Kai Ken by birth. A breed test has indicated his other half is strongly Whippet, with Bernese Mountain Dog in the Mix, but for relationship purposes it has been helpful for me to be most aware of and embrace his Kai nature.
It fits him best- he is extremely alert, sensitive, devoted, and has a strong prey drive. He is reddish brown on top and blends to a yellowy cream below with black brindle stripes overall. He has the alert upright bearing of a slightly neurotic library lion, and the eyes of an eagle, and can hear deer munching arborvitaes during a rainstorm with the windows closed.
He was born with a crooked nose and a sideways grin only a mother could love. Veterinarily, it’s called a Wry Face. He has an arresting look, which means that when he is standing stiff and alertly considering what to do about things, some people worry a little bit what he’ll choose. Sage’s face is like a bear, with small intense eyes and a deep stop where his forehead drops down to his nose, which is short and thick, but not wide. The bottom half of his ears are stand up prick ears, but the tops fall over making him look like he has rounded bear cub ears. Sage is a reactive dog.
